1. Pediatric Clinical Observational Gait Analysis
This chapter discusses the evidence that supports the relationship between mobility and participation in children.
2. The Development and Maturation of Gait
This chapter surveys the development of the postures and movements that are prerequisites for the development of gait. Additionally, the chapter discusses the maturation of gait, summarizing the major changes that occur between the onset of gait and adult-like gait.
3. Clinical Gait Analysis
In this chapter, clinical gait analysis will be discussed and a systematic approach for observational gait analysis will be described.
4. Pediatric Gait Assessment Tools
This chapter summarizes a number of available pediatric clinical gait assessment tools across a number of ICF domains. Psychometrics as well as test implementation will be discussed.
