1. Mindfulness and Clinical Conditions Research
This chapter reviews research evidence for the effectiveness of mindfulness training in the treatment of a range of medical conditions.
2. Introducing Symptom and Stress Self-Regulation
This chapter discusses how to get a patient’s buy-in. Introducing a patient to mindfully observing and self-regulating their physical, cognitive, and emotional reactions is presented.
3. Introducing Mindfulness and Mindful Breathing to a Patient
This chapter provides alternative language for patients who may not be comfortable with the term “mindfulness.” Pertinent research on breathing is highlighted. Instructing a patient in mindful breathing is demonstrated.
