This course helps healthcare providers increase their understanding of cross-cultural communication to improve relationships with diverse patients and health outcomes. The course addresses the importance of cross-cultural collaboration and practices that providers can adopt to improve it. It includes examples of health inequities based on race, language access, disability, gender, and intersectionality as well as potential steps to take to address health disparities. In addition, the course presents ways to use approaches like debiasing, language justice, critical consciousness, and cultural humility to build strong cross-cultural relationships.
