Lynda Jones

CCM, MSN, RN, CRRN

Lynda Jones, CCM, MSN, RN, CRRN, received her BSN from Biola University in 1980 and her MSN from Azusa Pacific University in 1998. Lynda is a published author and frequent presenter. She is active in Case Management Society of America (CMSA), serving as a board member, president, and past president of the San Francisco/East Bay Chapter. Lynda is also active in the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, where she has just completed her year as the conference chair for the 2015 National Educational Conference. Lynda has extensive experience in case management and the management of case management programs. She has worked in all venues, including managed care, fee-for-service, and private and public entities. She has experience in rehabilitation, home health, skilled nursing, clinics, and acute care. She lives in Santa Rosa with her two disabled cats, near her large extended family.

This course gives participants an overview of the anatomy and function of the gastrointestinal and urological systems. Medical diagnoses commonly seen in rehabilitation may cause dysfunction in these systems. Bowel and bladder disorders are major barriers to community living, social/recreational activities, and employment. Participants will understand the importance of bowel and bladder assessment, developing a care/treatment plan, and client/family education. Specific emphasis will be on diagnosing and treating various types of neurogenic bowel and bladder dysfunction. This course is appropriate for all staff working with rehabilitation patients/clients. It is most appropriate for the entry-level rehabilitation nurse in any setting.

Skin assessment and care when equipment is being used for treatment and mobility will be demonstrated. This course is appropriate for all staff working with rehabilitation patient/clients. It is most appropriate for the entry-level rehabilitation nurse in any setting.
