Poor nutrition is a factor in many health conditions, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, some cancers and obesity. Healthy eating can contribute to positive health outcomes and the ability to lead an active and fulfilling life.
In this course, we'll look closely at the principles of good nutrition and the roles of nutrients that the body needs to function optimally. We'll discuss healthy food choices and the importance of individualizing diets to meet nutritional needs. We'll finish by learning about the benefits of good nutrition and steps to improving eating habits.
This course may also help meet state training requirements for healthcare staff related to nutrition.
