The rehabilitation of a shoulder injury requires a solid understanding of the underlying biomechanics. Particularly relevant to shoulder injuries, this course emphasizes the importance of biomechanics for swimming and the overhead baseball throw. By emphasizing implications for rehabilitations and return to play, the participant will leave this course able to better apply biomechanical principles in their treatment of these injuries. Current research is presented to aid the clinician in understanding and developing evidence-based rehabilitation programs for healthy and injured athletes. Join Lenny Macrina as he presents the biomechanics of the shoulder through dynamic motion graphics, detailed lectures, and illustrative demonstrations.

1. Baseball Biomechanics
To facilitate the treatment and rehabilitation of shoulder injuries, this chapter delves into the biomechanics of the baseball throw, including the different phases of throwing, the most common causes of injury, and the tissues involved. Lenny Macrina provides a detailed lecture, interactive demonstration, and application of the material through a case study to understand the biomechanics of the shoulder while throwing.
2. Swimming Biomechanics
Gain advanced knowledge of the biomechanics involved in the swimming motion by delving into this multifaceted chapter. Anatomy, biomechanics, and the application of this knowledge for evaluating and treating the healthy or injured athlete are all covered in through comprehensive lecture, demonstration, and supplemental materials. Finally, test your knowledge during the case study to prepare for the SCS prep program or application in your own practice.
