Matthew Walsh

BSc, PT, SPG Level III (Aus)

Matthew specializes in running-related injuries, sports injuries, and spinal pain. He is the director of Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery's Motion Lab, as well as Rebound's running clinics. He is an active educator and teaches musculoskeletal diagnosis and rehabilitation methods to physical therapists on a national and international level.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Matt has taught courses on the biomechanics of gait, running, and manual therapy for 12 years in Australia, Canada, and the US. He has presented this approach to physiotherapy at the Australian Institute of Sport and various provincial, state, and national conferences.

In addition to his work as a clinician and teacher, Matthew has also served as therapist to the Canadian cross-country ski team and Alberta alpine ski team and as a consultant to the PGA Tour, Canadian U23 rugby team, and Nike's Team Oregon project. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon, and works in private practice with the Rebound rehabilitation group. He is a PhD student with professor Joy Higgs. His research is a qualitative study of advanced orthopedic physical therapists' clinical practice knowledge through the Charles Sturt University in Australia. He practices with a specialization in the assessment, treatment, and training of the running athlete.
