Medication management can be confusing for seniors. Half of all Americans do not take their medications as prescribed, resulting in declines in health and function (Schwartz, 2016). Managing medications with a vision impairment or physical limitation creates many other issues. This is an issue which can be the difference between living independently and requiring assistance. Medication management is well within the scope of occupational therapy. This course will educate you in various assessments available and offer techniques to increase the independence of your clients.
