1. Cranial Nerve Overview (Cranial Nerves I-VI)

This chapter will review cranial nerves I through VI including location, function, clinical testing, and clinical presentation of impairment or dysfunction. Upon completion, participants will learn how to perform clinical testing of cranial nerves I through VI and identify the location of exit from the skull.

2. Cranial Nerve Overview (Cranial nerves VII-XII)

This chapter will review cranial nerves VII through XII, including location, function, clinical testing, and clinical presentation of impairment or dysfunction. Upon completion, participants will learn how to perform clinical testing of cranial nerves VII through XII and identify the location of exit from the skull.

3. Spinal Nerve Overview

Participants will review the structure of a typical spinal nerve. The organization of the peripheral nervous system and its connections to the central nervous system are discussed. The pathway of afferent and efferent nerve impulses to and from the central nervous system is discussed. Peripheral nerve recovery after injury is discussed. Clinical manifestations of peripheral nerve injury and expected outcomes are discussed.

4. Overview of Peripheral Neuropathies

This chapter will provide an overview of peripheral neuropathies. Prevalence, etiology, and clinical presentation are discussed. Anatomical sites of peripheral nerve involvement are discussed.
