1. Common Deviations at the Ankle
This chapter will cover commonly occurring gait deviations at the ankle and how these present further up the kinetic chain. How application of an AFO can remedy these deviations will also be covered, with rationales and biomechanics explained. Video demonstration of these concepts will also be presented.
2. Different Types of AFOs
This chapter will cover the different types of AFOs that are available and when these should be used. Video demonstration will be provided on how simple adjustments can be made to existing AFOs during a clinic visit to influence biomechanical alignment and get the desired gait results.
