In this second course, of a 3 part series, the online participant will continue to learn how to integrate low-tech, non-invasive techniques drawn from Yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, and Feldenkrais with conventional rehab therapies to address pelvic floor dysfunction and guide clients toward improved health and function. Part B will begin by covering modifications of yoga poses to address soft tissue tightness, functional movement, and pelvic dysfunction. The pelvic clock in supine from Part A will be reviewed, and techniques for the facilitation of a client’s understanding of the pelvic clock will be presented. Components of Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons to promote functional movement and address pelvic dysfunction will be demonstrated, as well as the pelvic clock exercise in sitting.

1. Yoga Techniques

Understand child’s pose impact on the pelvic breath, modify child’s pose to accommodate a client’s flexibility, modify the pelvic breath lesson for a client in Child’s pose, and modify other yoga poses to address soft tissue tightness, promote functional movement and address pelvic dysfunction.

2. Standing Stake I

Use the fundamental Tai Chi exercise, Standing Stake, as a therapeutic intervention for patients with pelvic floor and core dysfunction.

3. Pelvic Clock and Partnered Pelvic Practice

Use manual facilitation to clarify a client’s understanding of the pelvic clock, and other partnered techniques for therapeutic pelvic floor exercise.

4. Bike Chain and Standing Stake II

Understand components of Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons to promote functional movement and address pelvic dysfunction, and learn progressions of the Standing Stake exercise.

5. Pelvic Clock Sitting and Conclusion

Expand your understanding of the pelvic clock as a therapeutic intervention by learning how to implement the exercise in a sitting position.
