Funding plays a pivotal role in the decision-making process for home modifications. This course, with Marnie Renda, provides practical background information on potential funding sources to allow therapists to maximize the effectiveness and scope of their home modification solutions. The course begins by reviewing the criteria necessary for federal funding programs including Medicare, federal workman's compensation, and funding via the VA. State alternatives are also discussed, including state Medicaid programs, and vocational rehabilitation programs. Learners will develop the ability to think critically and explore creative funding mechanisms through disease or injury specific groups, as well as community organizations. The course concludes with a question and answer session with a practicing therapist.
