Patients and their representatives have a right to be informed of any financial liability related to their care and treatment. Patients are informed about this on admission and throughout the course of care, both verbally and in writing. This course examines the circumstances when a hospice provider would be required to provide this notice, and the appropriate documentation tools to do this. We will also review who should receive this notification and how, who can sign, and what to do if a patient or their representative refuses to sign.
