Joan Arvedson, PhD, CCC-SLP, BCS-S, internationally renowned clinician and teacher, is a feeding and swallowing specialist at Children's Wisconsin. She is Clinical Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Dr. Arvedson received her BS, MS, and PhD from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Arvedson has focused patient care, teaching, and research on swallowing and feeding disorders in infants and children, delivering evidence-based knowledge and immediately applicable strategies via workshops and seminars throughout the world. She emphasizes a functional "whole" child approach stressing the importance of collaboration among professionals and caregivers.

She was awarded Honors of ASHA in 2016 and is an ASHA Fellow.

This course will focus on the management of infants and children with FSDs. The basic management principles, their hierarchy, and neuroplasticity will be discussed. Specific levels of interventions and specific therapies will be reviewed. Cases will be presented to illustrate management decision-making in the context of the evaluation and the model introduced during the first two courses in this series.
