This chapter will provide an overview of the purposes and components of the bedside/clinic or non-instrumental feeding/swallowing evaluation for infants and children. The rationale, advantages, and limitations associated with this evaluation will be presented.
2. Instrumental Assessments of Swallowing: The Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) evaluation for infants and children with feeding/swallowing problems
This chapter will provide an overview of the rationale for instrumental swallowing evaluations, purposes, and components of the FEES evaluation in infants and children. The rationale, advantages, and limitations associated with this evaluation will be presented.
